SUB We had a sub and he came late and we took notes and then class ended.

Notes Jesus of Nazareth Roman power spread to Judea; home of the Jews around 63 B.C. 6 A.D. Rome seized control of the Jewish kingdom and made it a province of the empire. Biblical tradition told of a Messiah that would come to restore and save the Jews. Jews believed that they would be saved by this Messiah. Sometime around 6 and 4 B.C., Jesus; a Jew, was born into the town of Bethlehem in Judea. Raised in Nazareth in northern Palestine, he was baptized under John the Baptist. Jesus began his public ministry at the age of thirty. He worked, taught, preached, and performed miracles upon the people. Most of what is known about Jesus can be found in the gospels in the Bible. Because Jesus was not about the fame and the glory, he was known by many people. He did not want to be rich or have a high status which the poor liked. Notes Today we took notes on a presentation regarding information needed for a test tomorrow. I will not be taking this test and I probably won't be taking it this week at all. I will not be here Monday, Tuesday, and maybe even Wednesday of next week because I will be with family in Salisbury again for the service. I am not really sure what to put into this blog because I wasn't really here mentally or emotionally first mod. I hope to get back on track with my schoolwork next Wednesday or Thursday and finish out the year strong.

SICK I am pretty sure I have food poisoning from whatever I ate last night so I was not in class today. That is it so yeah!

MORE NOTES Today we took more notes, however, I forgot my notebook so I cannot record any of them :) While taking notes, we talked about the bombing in Syria and how the world 'is going to end' (supposedly). Then we talked about how a bakery refused to make a cake for a homosexual couple and how the case is trying to climb its way to the Supreme Court. I refuse to believe that the Supreme Court would accept to view such a personal case but if the case is in fact regarding sexual orientation and religious freedoms the court may take a look at it. Well I am in no mood to impose my beliefs and opinions at this time so I'm done.

NOTES A true tyrant in the old and and modern sense of the word. The people's shock at this horrible family and their terrible behavior made them NEVER want to be subject to the rule of kings EVER again. This was an attitude that lasted for centuries. Rule of Kings is replaced by the rule of two consuls ("gotta be better than one"). Consuls are elected officials term of office: One year Always aristocrats (Patricians) Patricians chased their descent from a famous ancestor, or pater  ("father") Duties: Dealing justice, making laws, commanding the army. One consul could veto the other; reducing the power of the individual. Fifth century BCE- patrician dominance of the government was challenged by the plebs ("people"). Plebs were 98% of the population. Plebs had to serve in the army but could not hold office. Plebs were threatened with debt slavery. Plebs had no legal rights Plebs were victims of discriminatory decisions in judicial trials. ...

POWER POINT Today we took notes from a power point about Rome. We learned about the Italian peninsula and about the Etruscans. I will write in my notes next week some time because I forgot my notebook and I am already on my way home. 

Liberator Today Kelsie took control of the class and got us four points back on our tests which is great. That will raise my grade to  c so I will have a chance. Kels is a little stubborn but she gets what she wants which is pretty amazing and I'm not complaining. Thanks to Kels, I actually have a shot at getting an A in the class now so props to her. She is too happy tho.

NOT3S Today we took notes out of our textbooks while two students took the test. After taking notes for a while the students finished their test and it came time for the tests to be handed back. Somehow our class averaged to an 82 when most of my classmates (including me) received a D. One even got an F. After taking notes we all began to go over the test where we found an error and were given a point back. We complained so much I don't think that we even got past number eight so I'm guessing that's where we will continue on from tomorrow. 

TEST Today we had a test which I found extremely difficult for some reason. I studied for a good three hours and read over all of the material and there was stuff that we learned in human geo at the beginning of the year like arete that I don't remember. It was hard and I think I am going to do poorly which is great since I already have a low grade to start out the quarter.

Ptolemy disagrees with Aristarchus and says that Earth is the center of the universe- this is taught for the next fourteen centuries. DEBATABLE.. Debatable is the word I would use to describe today's class. Today we spent almost twenty minutes debating whether the test should be tomorrow or after Spring break. After a lot of talking and voting, the class has decided to take the test after break. I really am not feeling all that well and I have a lot of notes to enter so I am going to do that at another time. I know I say that a lot but I will one of these times.

DIDN'T HAVE CLASS

CULTURE We read a couple pages today in class and I am going to incorporate the notes into my blog. So, for starters, Alexandria is the center most area of commerce for the Hellenistic culture. Alexandria had many attractions to offer which brought more and more people to the area. Some of these people included scholars who attended the famous museum and library to try to publicize their findings. The scholars in Alexandria mostly consisted of scientists who wished to pursue the mysteries of the solar system. These scientists also worked in the fields of Astronomy, Mathematics, and Physics. Euclid was a well known mathematician in Alexandria. His book, Elements, contains all 465 geometric proofs and propositions. Archimedes of Syracuse studied at Alexandria under Euclid. NOTES We took notes today and I took a couple pages worth. I have to study for a Bio quiz tomorrow so I am going to make this quick and insert all of my notes into the blog tomorrow. Today we took notes in class on Alexander the Great and how he is the son of Philip II. Some people rushed through and took little notes and don't understand the text but I took the whole class. I will write all of my notes into my blog tomorrow because today I have many other things to do. 

PROJECTS Today we finished grading projects and then we had an off mod. Mr. Schick felt obligated to show us a video about chariot racing. It was Ben-Hur which we saw in eighth grade in Mr. White's class.  Okay that is it. 

PROJECTS Today we presented our projects to the class and gave each other grades. I believe that my trireme deserved and A and I am almost certain that everyone gave us an A. I did not memorize that many facts, however, Ben did. He told off fact after fact and I helped answer the questions so I believe that we will receive an A. After grading a few projects we ran out of time and class ended. We still have a couple more for tomorrow though.

PROJECTS... Today we kept working on our projects that are due on Tuesday. I sketched out a picture of what my prototype is going to look like. I am going to create a base with all water and a main trireme sailing on it with people fighting enemies. I am going to have a flipped over trireme and a boat upside down. I don't want to describe the whole thing though because it is going to be great!

READ!!! (TRIREME) Today we worked on our projects and Ben decided that he was going to write the paper and I was going to construct the model. Frankie decided to leave our group and try to fly solo which is a really bad idea. Ben wrote the paper for most of the class while I tried to get a layout of the vessel I was going to construct. I am thinking of building it out of shish kabob sticks and hot glue. It is going to be great! After working on our projects for while I ran out to grab my computer charger for next class. Then class ended and we left. This blog is late because I lost my TV and internet when I got home due to the snow storm. I originally wrote the blog at 6:15 on Tuesday but it didn't load up so I had to redo it. I hope I don't get a late grade because of this.. sorry for any problems.

WIND STORM... Not really sure what we did on Friday but I know it was something to do with Philosophy. I was freaking out last night because I was afraid the blog was due at midnight and I left my computer at my grandmother's and didn't get home till 10:30 or 11:00. I stayed after school at my grandparents with my sister and my mom until like 8:45 and then started to drive home. When we were over at my grandmother's, she asked us to go out and get her and her husband dinner, so we did. When we exited her court we saw a huge tree across the road so we turned down a different road. On the next road we saw two firetrucks and multiple cop cars whose sirens were screaming. A branch had fallen right in front of our eyes and landed on a power line. It burst into flames and the firefighters were trying to figure out what to do. Then I saw people running from the house just as the whole tree fell on the line and blew into sparks and flames. Then the cops told us to leave the road i...
