END OF QUARTER 1 Today was the last day of quarter one and now we are officially in quarter two. Today we got our quizzes back and for some reason I always do horribly on them. Today was an example of just that. Then we spent a lot of the time eating candy and talking. Finally we took some notes and then class ended and we left. There isn't much more to say except that I didn't know that today was Halloween until fourth mod. Yes, that is sad. I finished Grease rehearsal around seven and then headed to my aunt's to go trick or treating with my two year old cousin. I only went for like five or six houses and I took a decent amount of candy too. Then around 8:30 my mom and I left and headed home. I got home and settled around 10:15 and now I am doing my blog. Tomorrow I will be at school until seven again for rehearsal and then Thursday I have to miss some classes to do the preview and a matinee. I was sucked/forced into theatre by my mom because she wanted me to try it out.
No Ink  Today we took notes on the crude birth and death rate. However, my pen was out of ink so I just pushed really hard onto the paper so I could make indents and trace over it later with a pen that actually worked so I could see it. We then introduced Frankie and Michael's shadows and ate Frankie's donuts. Then we spent the rest of class going over the immigration rate and discussing whether we thought it was going to increase or decrease with Trump in office. Then we continued to take notes as Mr. Schick lectured on and then we talked about dangerous jobs. Mr. Schick told us about all of the jobs in Oregon that if done wrong, can take your life. He talked about the sawmills and the people who cut down trees and then I told him about the structural engineers. He asked if any women partake in the actual detonating of the explosives and I don't think they do. I believe only men do it because so few people have that job because it takes tons of intelligence and patience.
Basically Just Eating Today someone brought in candy and we ate every piece except for the Whoppers. All of the whoppers went to Mr. Schick's pile. Then we took notes on population and scarred ourselves as we watched the rate of death and birth. It was actually horrifying to see that 5 people are born every two seconds. It gives me the feeling that our country is going to run out of land and we are going to have to do what China did and limit our number of offspring allowed. NOBODY will go for that though and if somebody makes them then fine I will just have thirty dogs and everyone will just have thirty dogs instead. Besides taking notes and eating we didn't really do much else. I actually like that Mr. Schick allows us to bring in food now though because we all love it and we have a group chat and a calendar for when people are supposed to bring in stuff. Except it goes in alphabetical order and semester will probably end before everyone has to buy something for the class, b
AFTER TEST  After the test I began to write my blog. I don't really know what to blog about but I guess I can talk about how I thought the test went. I think I actually did pretty decent on it; definitely better than the last one at least. The essay question was not that hard either, I chose the one about why people decide to manufacture their products outside of The US rather than in The US. I don't know if this is entirely correct, but I just talked about why prices are raised if products are made in the US. I believe its because the company has to make a certain price to cut even and a higher price to make a profit. If the product is made in The US, you have to pay for the materials to manufacture it whereas if it was made in China all you have to do is pay to have it shipped over here. I think it is honestly easier to buy the product outside of The US because then we (the country) don't have to purchase the materials to manufacture it and then charge a ridiculous pri
TEST QUESTIONS Are there more Republican states or Democratic? How many states are in the United States? How many time zones are there? What is the difference between the Mercator map and the Peters map? The Mercator map is more accurate size wise. Globalization definition: a force or process that involves the entire world and results in making something worldwide. Why is each place on earth unique? What is a geographic coordinate system? Which is vertical: latitude or longitude. Tomorrow we have a test in Human Geo. Figures, I miss one day and we go over everything that we would need for a quiz. Plus, I heard there was a group chat made that only talks about the foods we are going to bring in and to be honest, it's pretty great. For  every class we assign someone to bring in something. It works too because there are like twenty of us so everybody brings in like once a month.
Absent Today I walked into class with ten minutes remaining so really I had no idea what was going on. The only part I caught was GPS and that it means Global Positioning System. Besides that I have no idea what went on today so yeah!
A Sad Day for Everyone Today we were informed that the great Michael Doglas has passed. Mr. Schick was exempt from school yesterday because he was giving his dog the last and best day of his life. Mr. Schick gave up his whole day to be at his dog's side. He played with him and fed him ham and hot dogs and gave him the best last hours of his life. Finally Mr. Schick said his farewells and they both parted. Then we continued to talk about something but nobody really payed any attention because we were all so hung up on Michael Doglas and his passing. Afterwards we looked at pictures of Michael Doglas and some of the girls in the class even cried. Then Mr. Schick told us that he doesn't buy dogs and that him and his wife only take in mutts. He said he believes that another dog will one day wander onto his property like Michael Doglas did, and he will take him in too. Somebody asked how old he was, Mr. Schick said he had no clue because he wandered up to their house probably arou

Thinking Geographically from Global to Local Take some time to freely and openly explore your own personal items (computers, notebooks, pencil cases, clothes) and various different items in the classroom. Record where your items come from or where they are made. Think about the things that you use most at your home. Do you know the name brands of the items that you use the most? (i.e. TV, Samsung, Computer, Apple) List these items and their country of origin. Try answer these questions about each item: What company made them? Where is that company from? Where was your specific product made? Enter this information in your blog. Globalization- the act or process of globalizing :  the state of being globalized ;  especially   : the development of an increasingly integrated global economy marked especially by free trade, free flow of capital, and the tapping of cheaper foreign labor markets. Globalization-  the process by which businesses or other organizations develop international
BUZZ'S PUNCH AND THE ERL BUSINESS Today in class we talked about renewable and nonrenewable resources and how they play a part in our environment. Then we took some notes on ERL (oil) and watched a video on one of the first astronaut's that flew to the moon. The video was on Buzz Aldrin; the man that went to the moon with Neil Armstrong. Neil Armstrong passed about five years ago and Buzz Aldrin is still living. To be honest, I never even knew Neil went with him. I mean I know he went with someone but I just didn't know his name. The other thing I didn't realize is that Buzz was such a player. He has had a total of three wives throughout his life. In the video, Mr. Schick showed us, there was a lot of cursing because the person filming was really dramatic. Of course, it isn't Mr. Schick's fault that there was cursing because he had never seen the video before; none of us had. In the video, Buzz was being confronted by an idiot who thought that Buzz going to t
First Late Day Friday was officially my first late day of high school. It all started when my mother drove me into school and I didn't feel well, so I decided to stay back and sleep in the car for a half an hour before I went in. The only problem was I overslept. I woke up and panicked, realizing that I was late for class I bolted out of the car with my shoes half on my feet and my backpack unzipped. I ran to the front entrance and threw open the door, I ran to the Academic Wing and checked my phone; it was 8:20. I was actually relieved because I honestly thought I had slept until 9:30. I called my mother and told her what happened and she wasn't mad at all, she was actually very understanding. Then I went to the check in machine outside of Mr. Ireton's room and logged myself in as late. I was printing my late notice slip when Mr. Powell walked out and said, "Doesn't your mother work here?" I shamefully said "Yes sir she does. I wasn't feeling well
POP QUIZ TROUBLES AND CIA FACTBOOK This morning was very stressful for me; first I left my phone at home, then my contact fell out during Honors Algebra 2 while we were taking a test, and finally Spanish!! Honestly Mrs. A doesn't do anything, its just that Spanish tends to kill me. I did however get my contact back in so that's taken care of. Oh! and I have play practice tonight from 3:45 to 9:45 so there's that too. The real question is when am I going to get my homework done. Definitely not between 2:45 and 3:45 because I have to change and go out with my sister and get a snack from Wawa. Then when I have a free moment in rehearsal I have to call Seasons and place an order so my sister and I have something to eat for dinner because if I don't eat from 3:30 to 9:45 I'll probably tank. Anyway, enough complaining, now to Human Geo.Today in human geo we were given a pop quiz... yeeesh!! I did not do amazing because I do not know every single state's political vi
Same as Always Today we talked about why there are twenty four hours in a day and sixty minutes in an hour. Then we dove a little deeper and discussed why there were sixty seconds in a minute. We then talked about if we thought the world should run on just one time schedule. Many of us thought it was a great idea while others slowly lost it. Some of the problems you would have if you did this is if it were the same time all around the world, it could be nine at night and time to go to bed but the sun could be at its highest point in the sky. It wouldn't work due to the earth's rotation. Then some of the class talked about weird theories and it both blew our minds and fried our brains at the same time. Then we continued on and discussed more while our brains slowly cooked like corn kernels in a microwave just waiting to pop at any given second. Then Faith said she remembered reading a quote from somewhere that said something like, "right now you will be the youngest you
The Usual Today a student I don't really like called Mr. Schick out for not wearing a Hawaiian or tropical themed shirt. Mr. Schick was wearing a Hawaiian shirt but it didn't have palm trees or whatever on it, instead it had Cubs themed stuff on it. It was a Hawaiian shirt it just didn't have monkeys or colorful flowers on it. The student who called him out also had on a Hawaiian shirt but it didn't have flowers on it either. It just had sayings and writings in small words written all across the shirt. If I remember correctly, Mr. Schick called them "skid-marks." Then we discussed the topic of the day which I don't remember now that I think of it. We took some notes and then the bell rang and we bounced.
Region and Cultural Location  Today's class started off just like it always does. We complain and ask to leave the room, and Mr. Schick declines us every time. Every class we spend ten minutes picking on each other and pointing out what isn't right; then we get to the lesson. I walked in with my bunny which Mr. Kimble named Junior, and sat him down on my lap. Junior is about two feet tall and light blue. He was being passed around the room because everyone wanted to hold him or feel him because he is really soft. then he came back to me and Mr. Schick grabbed him and put him in an empty desk in the front row. Then we got to work. We talked about region and cultural location and took notes. We wrote down the definitions and then did an activity in which you needed to know the states which took forever. Earlier in the day in Religion, Mr. Kimble smiled and laughed when he saw my bunny walk through the door. I set him on the ground and walked over to set my phone in his door cub
